Branson and Memphis

June 18 - June 20  Branson, Missouri

On June 18, we drove to Branson and checked into our condo.  We stayed in a nice condo with a back balcony that overlooked a little manmade stream.  Every morning, Eric, Elissa and I had tea on the balcony and enjoyed the cool, fresh air.  It was a nice chance to spend some family time together.  We also enjoyed relaxing by the pool every afternoon.

On June 19 and 20, we went to Silver Dollar City for part of both days.  We hit all our favorite spots.  We had rootbeer floats at the Saloon show.

Melissa learned to milk a fake cow.  Elissa shared her best goat milking tips with her.

We ate our favorite skillet lunch with grilled corn on the cob and had our favorite snack of cinnamon bread and cream soda at the mill.  We also sat and listened to the front porch pickers.  During their show, they asked everyone to join in on "I'll Fly Away".  Melissa got this strickened look on her face when she noticed that everyone in the audience except for her knew the song. The pickers noticed too, and gave her some good-natured ribbing about it.

Elissa and Melissa spent some time in jail.

We really enjoyed being back in Branson visiting Silver Dollar City and relaxing at the pool at our condo.

On the 21st, we started heading back to South Carolina.  We stopped in Memphis late in the afternoon.  We stopped by the Mississippi River.

We ate some dry-rubbed barbeque at the Rendezvous.  We called Jeff for a recommendation and this was his favorite Memphis barbeque.

After a great dinner, we took a walk down Beale street before hitting the road again.
