Baby News June 26
It looks like our first grandbaby will be making an
appearance sooner than we expected. At
34 weeks, Elissa has developed a mild case of preeclampsia. She has been hospitalized and the doctor and
midwife expect that the preeclampsia will progress in severity over the next
few days. Elissa and the baby will be
carefully monitored and as soon as either Elissa's blood pressure or protein
levels approach the dangerous level they will induce labor and bring her new
bundle of joy into the world a bit early.
At this time, they are expecting to induce labor within the week and
think the baby will stay in the neonatal unit for about two weeks.
The house closing is set for Friday, June 28. Jonathan will go and sign all the papers
Friday afternoon. Eric and I are trying
to get into the new house in Summerville Thursday and Friday in order to start painting. We would like to get the living room painted
before we start moving in on Saturday. I
don't think this will be a problem, the realtor already had Eric come in before
the inspection and replace the back door.
Next week, we will start on the nursery.
The nursery fabric should arrive by Friday, so next week Grammy will by
sewing like crazy while Gramps or Grampy (Eric can't decide which he likes
better) will paint the nursery. Eric
also has some repairs to make on the cradle he made 25 years ago for Elissa. Hopefully, we can get most of the new house in order and looking nice before Elissa comes home and then the nursery ready for the baby's arrival.
