Mystic Pizza

Remember the movie?  On Tuesday September 4, we headed out through Connecticut on our way to Nantasket Beach in Hull, Massachusetts.  After driving awhile through the pouring rain, we saw a sign for Mystic, Connecticut and pulled off the interstate.  Sure enough, it was the Mystic, Connecticut of "Mystic Pizza" fame.  We drove along the harbor and over a bascule bridge and into the old downtown area.  We located Mystic Pizza and settled in to watch it rain.  Mystic Pizza did not disappoint.  We had a fabulous mousaka  pizza and a local Mystic Bridge beer.

While we were eating, we noticed the traffic backing up while the bascule bridge must have been going up.  We were not about to leave our pizza and sprint through the rain to see it, though.   After lunch, the rain let up some, so we walked around the downtown and harbor area checking out the bridge and shops.

Before leaving town, we stopped at a nice local coffee shop to enjoy an americano.   Then it was on through the rest of Connecticut, quickly through Rhode Island and into Massachusetts.
