Day 20 New Year's Eve
Richard, our host was having a big
New Year's Eve party. After a short nap
after lunch, we headed upstairs to help Richard get ready for his party. We gathered up all the tables and chairs
around the complex and set them up in Richard's apartment. Richard started cooking some amazing
meatballs and a schnitzel-type pork chops while we finished cleaning up his kitchen and front porch. We also helped him get dips, chips and fruits
ready for the party. After showering and
sprucing up, we headed upstairs about 7:30
to help with any last minute details.

The party was set to start at 8:00. A
Polish attorney and his girlfriend,
Elias and Maman, and Joseph and his grandmother arrived at 8:00.

We all snacked and visited until
about 10:00 when everyone else showed
up. We all ate dinner and dessert.

At 11:45,
I headed down to our apartment to use the restroom before Richard set off his
fireworks. Too late, he set them off
while I was in the bathroom. I caught
the very last one. Who sets off their
New Year's fireworks at 11:45? We
stood in the yard and watched all the fireworks being shot off in San
Jose and Grecia in the valley below. It looked like flashbulbs going off all over
town.
