Quincy and Salem, Massachusetts

On Saturday September 8, we left Nantasket Beach and headed towards our next destination - Hampton Beach, New Hampshire.  Our first stop on the way was Quincy, Massachusetts, the home of John Adams and John Quincy Adams.  We stopped in the visitor center for some background info and then wandered around the area a bit.  We saw the "Old House" that all the Adams called home.

After leaving Quincy, we went on through Boston and stopped in Salem the sight of the Salem Witch Trials in the 1600's.  We stopped at the visitor's center and then headed out on the Salem Historical Trail.  The Trail is painted red on the sidewalk making it easy to follow.  We toured the Salem Witch Museum which was a bit cheesy.

We had to leave Salem quickly in order to meet our landlord for our beachside apartment which we had rented for the next week.  Our apartment wasn't quite what we were expecting, but the beach looks very nice.  Just outside of our door is the waterfall for a pirate themed mini golf course - funny that it didn't show up in the photos on their website.  We found out they were having a seafood festival in town this weekend and the town was packed.  Our upstairs neighbors were having a huge party on their porch and we couldn't figure out how come there was so many cars honking in front of our building until we walked to the beach and looked back and saw that they had hung a sign on the porch that said "you honk, we drink".
