Angel Oak

On Thursday August 9, we headed back to Goose Creek.  On the way we decided to stop and look at the Angel Oak Tree on John's Island near Charleston.  We didn't realize until we were part of the way there that we were on one of the only roads that went to the PGA tournament on Kiawah Island.  We thought it was odd that so many people were headed to see an oak tree.  The tree is amazing.  It is estimated to be about 400 years old.  It is the oldest living organism east of the Mississippi.
