Weekend in Orlando

On Friday August 17, Eric, Jonathan, Elissa and I headed out for Gatorland.  Jonathan was very excited about seeing it, the rest of us were a bit skeptical.  I am pleased to say that we were all pleasantly surprised at what a good day we had.  There were gators, gators, and more gators.  We saw gator wrestling - which was really a bit intense.  We watched gators jump out of the water to get to chickens and we got to feed bits of hot dogs to gators ourselves.  Later in the day, we ran into Tim, the gator wrestler and talked to him for awhile.  You can tell he really loves his job.

On Saturday August 18, we had planned a pool day, but the weather didn't cooperate.  Shortly after arriving at the pool, it started to thunder then rain.  The rain set in for awhile so we headed for the outlet mall along with every foreigner in Orlando.  It was amazing.  Many of the other shoppers had brought very large wheeled suitcases to hold all their purchases.

After we had our fill of the crowds at the mall we headed back to enjoy some happy hour snacks at Copper Canyon Grill at Pointe Orlando across from our hotel.  Then we went to see "The Dark Knight Rises" at the theater at Pointe Orlando.  We all really liked it and thought it was probably the best of all the batman movies.

On Sunday August 19, Jonathan and Elissa went to Sea World.  They had a blast there.  They said the new Manta roller coaster was incredible.  You lay suspended on your tummy through all the loops.  Eric and I went to the pool for a bit and then watched the Nascar race.
